This social group was created for older children (8+) who do not necessarily require skilled occupational therapy services, may have graduated from such services, and/ or are receiving some sort of therapy services but would benefit from naturalistic & fun opportunities to practice social skills in a therapeutic & supportive environment.
What you'll get:
- small groups created & led by occupational therapy professionals
- natural social skill building opportunities provided in a supportive environment
- exposure to purposeful & developmentally appropriate activities that generalize a variety of skills, to include but not limited to, cooking, STEM and STEM projects, board games, team building activities, science experiments, & outdoor activities.
- skill building and maintaining in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, social, play, leisure, language & communication, cognitive, and executive functioning.
- we also touch upon, age-appropriate social emotional learning topics, such as self-esteem, friendships, kindness, health & fitness, bullying, self-confidence, mindfulness, coping skills, self-control, etc. that are customized to the needs of our specific group members
Our Sessions consists of multiple hour-long groups.
